Biography:

Professor Bruce Wilcox is Director of Global Health Asia & the Integrative Education and Research Programme at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Mahidol University at the Division of Infectious Disease and Global Health, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University (USA); and Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand. Dr. Wilcox was educated at Yale University and University of California at San Diego where held a Ph.D. Traineeships in Genetics U.S. National Institutes of Health. Before relocating to Asia in 2010 he held research and teaching positions in the U.S. for nearly 20 years, including Associate Professsor in Human Biology Stanford University and most recently Professor and Chair of the Division of Ecology and Health at University of Hawaii School of Medicine, in the Departments of Tropical Medicine and Public Health. His focus is interdisciplinary research and its applications to environment health and tropical diseases. He is a frequent consultant and advisor to international organizations and agencies, often in relation to one health and ecohealth initiatives. He led the establishment of the International Association for Ecology and Health (IAEH), serving as its founding Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of EcoHealth (Springer, LLC.).
