At present, it is vital to evaluate the risks of these emerging diseases at different levels; this involves optimization of diagnostic tools, organization of controls and implementation of prevention programs. Thus, the study and the continuous research on animal health in tropical Asian regions has a profound impact on Tropical Veterinary Medicine. This is especially so, in times of increased international trade and human mobility.

Thailand is centrally positioned in the Asian region, with access to both South China and the Andaman seas. Our country is known for having played a leading role in promoting regional and international partnership to stem out several animal diseases that are harmful to human, such as the Avian Influenza. This confirms that the experience of Thai veterinary scientists and experts could certainly benefit the welfare of the people in the region and throughout the world. With the purpose of creating a greater platform for the development of tropical animal diseases research, the Association of Institutions for Tropical Veterinary Medicine is hosting the 13th AITVM Conference 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.

As one of the most popular international meeting destination in the region, Bangkok was ranked fourth in the world’s top ten most popular long-haul destinations for meetings and incentive travel by Meeting & Travel Magazine Survey. We would like to invite you to join us in this conference. Come see Bangkok and join us in this conference.
