PhD position

PhD on the following subject:  Prioritizations of measures to reduce risks and enhance human health benefits at the human-dog interface in northern Canada  At the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire, Université de Montréal, Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada.

The candidate's research project will focus on the participatory decision-­making process (a priori evaluation and prioritization of possible measures) and its results in the three communities. Mixed methods integrating qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g. multicriteria decision analysis) are expected to be used under the general respect of the principles of ecohealth and the ‘two-­eyed seeing’ model. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with veterinary epidemiologists, public health researchers, social scientists, and other MSc or PhD students.

  • Location: Faculté de médecine vétérinaire at Saint-­Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada;; work field in Nunavik
  • Duration: three years;; starting Septembre 2018
  • Funding: the student will be funded by the CIHR grant for the project (3 years scholarship @ 25,000CA$ per year);; In addition, the candidate will be required to apply to faculty / university and provincial or federal scholarships.
