Bio-Asia funding programme

Bio-Asia is a regional programme implemented by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research in partnership with the UNESCO Regional Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, offering funding opportunities in areas such as :

Biodiversity, Biotechnologies, Biochemistry, Food, Green Chemistry, Biomedical and Health

Bio-Asia finances the mobility costs of researchers involved in projects with at least three partners (one from France and two from Asia), following a selection through the annual Call for Proposals.

Bio-Asia Conference

Bio-Asia Conference 2015 aims to strengthen cooperation in the bio sciences between France and Asian countries to develop joint and sustainable research projects. Held from 20 to 22 May 2015 at Matrix @ Biopolis in Singapore, Bio Asia Conference 2015 is packed with an exciting lineup, thanks to our invited speakers from France and all of Asia.

Guests will have the opportunity to visit research facilities on 20 May, with the next two days dedicated to institutional presentations, scientific talks, panel discussions and poster sessions. Bio Asia Conference 2015 will leverage on the existing collaborations between our countries and the strong expertise of our guest scientists to better stimulate dialogue and create new growth opportunities in biological sciences research.

Our distinguished guests, H.E. Benjamin Dubertret, Ambassador of France to Singapore, and Mr. André de Bussy, Regional Councilor for Development in ASEAN, MAEDI, will open the conference and share key elements and insights into the scientific cooperation ties that France has in Asia and particularly, Singapore.

Bio-Asia Conference is also privileged to have Dr. Benjamin Seet, Executive Director of Biomedical Research Council (BMRC), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), to address the audience with a focus on the R&D landscape in Singapore and A*STAR role in this exciting domain.

The conference will end with a panel discussion on the future of the Bio-Asia programme and more importantly, with the launch of the Call for Proposals for the Bio-Asia funding programme.

Call for abstracts

The core of the conference is spread over 6 sessions. Each session involves one keynote speaker (30mins), three speakers (20mins each) and poster sessions.

Should your work be selected by the organizing committee, you will have the opportunity to showcase your research as a speaker at the conference. All other abstracts not selected may be presented at the poster sessions.

This call is open to all researchers (from both academia and industry) based in one of the following countries : Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and France.

You will have the opportunity to present your research work during the poster sessions. Furthermore, authors of the best abstracts will take part in the conference as speakers.

And that is not all ! The Bio-Asia Conference may be coupled with the Conference on Innovating Innovation (18-20 May) organised by our partner Technology Innovation International (TII).
