Multidisciplinary workshop on Trypanosome and Vectors Management through the “One-Health” Perspective

Under the umbrella of BioZoonoSEA platform (“Biotechnology Platform for Research and Training on Parasitic Zoonoses in South Est Asia”), NAHIAT (Network on Atypical Human Infections by Animal Trypanosomes) and GREASE networks and further to GREASE working group’s meeting “Monitoring of emerging risks in Southeast Asia” (January 2013, Bangkok), we are pleased to inform you about the “Diagnosis and control of human and animal trypanosomes and their vectors in Asia; from field to laboratory” training workshop that will take place in Kasetsart University on May 15th-21st with the support of PPR SELTAR (IRD), the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Kasetsart) and CIRAD.

The first day will be dedicated to a one day open workshop “One Health Trypano Open workshop”. The objective is to strengthen cross-sectoral and multidisciplinary exchanges about trypanosomosis management among professional form different sectors (Animal health, Human health, Environment, Rural Development). We propose lectures and open discussions about future collaborations within a One-Health approach and will focus on trypanosomes and vectors management perspectives including livestock, wildlife, natural resources, veterinary and human health.

15 May 13 opening workshop at the 8th floor of the Honor Building Queen Sirikit, 8th floor meeting room 2 (new hospital building), lunch and coffee break by FVM
16 May 13 workshop continue at the 3rd floor meeting room 2 of Jakpichai building (lunch and coffee break by FVM)
17 - 18 May 13

- field work at Kamphaengsaen campus, lunch box by FVMat Kamphaengsaen (no coffee break)

- laboratory in the afternoon at the 3 floor of Education and Laboratory building

20 - 21 May 13 diagnosis and discussion at the 3rd and 4th floor of Jakpichai building (lunch and coffee break by FVM)
