Zoonotic diseases in South East Asia and in Southern China.

April 5, 2013

The article 'Zoonoses in South-East Asia: a regional burden, a global threat', Marion Bordier and François Roger, published in March 2013 in the journal Animal Health Research Review (Cambridge University Press), presents the results of a synthesis about zoonotic diseases in South East Asia and in Southern China. This is a preliminary study conducted within a Master project, about methods for prioritisation of infectious diseases. The summary is available here.

During her Master's project (for the MIVA program, co-organized by the University of Montpellier II and Kasetsart University in Thailand, in collaboration with CIRAD and the Pasteur Institutes Network), Marion Bordier studied methods for prioritizion of infectious diseases and proposed an innovative method for the selection of criteria supporting prioritization exercise for diseases. She conducted her project within the AGIRs unit, under the framework of the Platform in partnership GREASE, and in collaboration with professors of Kasetsart University. The first results were presented at the conference of the Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) in 2011 and a publication is about to be finalized.
